We are looking for a full-time Legal Assistant, Corporate Services. In this role, you will be responsible for providing practice management support to our Corporate Services Law Clerks, assisting them in providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal and corporate documents, including Share Certificates, resolutions, agreements, policies, and correspondence
- Maintain corporate records, minute books, and document management systems
- Timekeeping & accounting, including entering and finalizing dockets, preparing Workflow forms and further documentation related to cheque requisitions, AMEX statements and other accounting procedures
- Email, phone & calendar management, including liaising with clients, scheduling appointments, arranging conference calls, booking facilities and other meeting requirements i.e. meals, audio visual equipment, etc.
- Coordinate firm resources including working with support departments and other legal assistants to ensure required actions are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide assistance to others during absences as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A college diploma or equivalency
- 2+ years of relevant experience within a legal professional services environment
- Working knowledge in MS Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Adobe
- Proficiency in role-specific software, including MinuteBox (an asset)
- Discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
- A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates excellent client service and ability to anticipate client needs
