We are looking for a full-time Librarian, Research Services. As a key member of the Library Services team, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Library Services. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal and business research and reference services and training to lawyers and students.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide timely and high-quality legal and business research, analysis and reference services on complex matters to lawyers, students and staff
Leverage knowledge of legal subject areas and resources to advise lawyers and students on research strategy, methodology and resources
Keep lawyers informed about developments relevant to their practice by monitoring legislation, case law and media
Collaborate with Library team, Research Lawyers and Directors of Legal Talent to develop and deliver innovative, forward-thinking research instruction and training to lawyers and students
Develop and maintain knowledge of, and skills related to, the use of generative artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies, in legal research
Evaluate and recommend new research tools and resources and participate in the overall development and management of the library’s collection
Contribute to and actively participate in staff meetings, and attend professional learning and development events
Provide assistance to others during absences as needed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Studies is required
Experience providing legal and business research services
Ability to think critically and analytically to provide accurate, high-quality research services to lawyers and students
Discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a professional team, managing the prioritization and completion of tasks in a timely and effective manner with minimal supervision
Demonstrates commitment to learning and development
Ability to adapt to the changing framework of library and information management services and practices
Demonstrates excellent client service and ability to anticipate client needs
