We are looking for a Specialist, Internal Communications and Engagement for a 12-month contract. As a key member of our Human Resources team, you will be reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering internal communication and events that enhance employee engagement and reinforce our firm’s culture.

With a strong emphasis on engagement, you will lead the planning and execution of internal initiatives that inspire connection and collaboration across the firm. You will also support the development and implementation of internal communication strategies, working closely with teams across departments to curate fresh, engaging content for our intranet and other internal channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of internal events and initiatives, including logistics management, promotion, and post event follow-up
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness and ROI of engagement programs and events, leveraging insights to enhance future initiatives
  • Design event materials such as invitations, taglines, posters, speaking notes, and PowerPoint presentations, ensuring alignment with brand standards
  • Support engagement initiatives through active participation in the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee
  • Draft and publish internal communication content for the firm’s intranet in collaboration with internal business services teams
  • Maintain editorial oversight of content across internal communication channels to ensure the brand is well reflected and promoted in all materials, act as quality control for consistency, quality and alignment with the firm’s messaging
  • Other duties and contribute to special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Event Management or a related field
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in event planning, or communications and engagement
  • Exceptional communication skills, with strong attention to detail, creative writing and copy-editing abilities
  • Proven experience in event planning and execution, including logistics management, promotion, and post event follow-up
  • Familiarity with internal communications and engagement best practices and tools, such as newsletters, intranet platforms, social media, and other digital channels
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset, with an ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in a professional services environment is preferred
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and design software such as Photoshop or Canva is required
  • Experience with video editing and production experience is considered an asset
