We are looking for a Coordinator, Marketing and Business Development. As a key member of the Marketing team, you will be reporting to the Manager, Business Development. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality directory submissions that support the firm’s reputation in the marketplace and business development initiatives, as well as maintaining the firm’s deals and cases database.

We are looking for a Coordinator, Marketing and Business Development. As a key member of the Marketing team, you will be reporting to the Manager, Business Development. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality directory submissions that support the firm’s reputation in the marketplace and business development initiatives, as well as maintaining the firm’s deals and cases database.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Recognition
- Coordinate the annual directory and award submissions process, including but not limited to, ensuring submissions are drafted, reviewed and submitted on time, creating communication plans for internal and external use, assisting in scheduling and preparing research interviews between lawyers and directories, and managing rankings and progress trackers for various directories
- Maintain the firm’s internal market recognition and league table calendars to track deadlines and alert key internal stakeholders of upcoming deliverables
- Build positive relationships with key external ranking organizations and league tables to stay abreast of research and submission guidelines
- Summarize directory and award results, share summary with senior team members, offer strategic insights on areas of focus, and be the go-to resource for lawyers and colleagues regarding market recognition activities
- Work closely with the broader Marketing and Client Relations team to effectively promote the firm’s successes internally and externally
- Experience and Profile Management
- Understand the structure and terminology used in corporate transactions and litigation cases for editing and drafting matter descriptions
- Proactively review market sources to learn about firm news and work with internal stakeholders to prepare matter descriptions
- Draft, edit and routinely update firm profile and lawyer bios with recent matters and market recognition for the firm’s website and inclusion in legal directories and publications
- Other Responsibilities
- Incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools responsibly and strategically to improve processes, technological efficiencies and quality of submissions and matter reports
- Ensure key information systems, such as the accolades database and the experience database are up to date with current information
- Assist with general requests for business development materials as required
- Support the Marketing and Client Relations team as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Post-secondary certificate or university degree in journalism, marketing, communications, business, public relations, or a related field is an asset
- 1-3 years of experience, with a general understanding of how a law firm operates is preferred
- Strong communication and business writing skills (structured, concise and persuasive), with great attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong research skills to review business and professional publications for critical information and data
- Excellent project management skills, including organizational skills, time management and process orientation
- A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and ability to quickly learn and leverage new technology solutions
- Knowledge of Canva and other design related programs is an asset
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to aid productivity
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and a high level of confidentiality
- Strong service mindset with the ability to respond to and anticipate client needs
